Located amidst the peaceful natural surroundings of Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand, Shri Hari Agastyeshwar Sanskrit Vidyalaya, Odali is dedicated to preserving and promoting India’s ancient knowledge system, Sanskrit education and the traditional Gurukul way of life.
The Gurukul is associated with the educational initiatives of Odaligaon Mahadev Mandir Bahudeshiya Samiti. Its aim is to provide children, particularly those from economically weaker families, with access to Sanskrit and Vedic education while nurturing discipline, cultural values and essential life skills.
Education here goes beyond classroom learning. Students are introduced to Sanskrit, Vedic studies, Karmakanda, religious traditions, Jyotish and Indian culture, along with modern subjects that help them prepare for the future.
About Gurukul
Shri Hari Agastyeshwar Sanskrit Vidyalaya, Odali was established with the vision of making meaningful education accessible to children from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds while keeping them connected with India’s traditional knowledge and cultural heritage.
A key objective of the Gurukul is to promote Sanskrit and Vedic learning and create better educational opportunities for students living in rural areas.

The Batuk Brahmacharis of the Gurukul are students who are learning and carrying forward India’s traditional Vedic knowledge system.
During their education, they study Sanskrit, Vedic mantras, religious traditions, Karmakanda and other subjects connected with Indian knowledge and culture. Under the guidance of their Acharyas, they also learn traditional methods of mantra recitation, Puja Vidhi and religious rituals.
At Rahu Mandir Paithani, Vedic pujas and Japa performed for devotees may be conducted by these trained Batuk Brahmacharis under the guidance and supervision of experienced Acharyas.
In this way, a devotee’s Puja Seva can become more than a religious ritual. It can also contribute towards keeping Vedic learning and the traditional Gurukul system alive.
